Balingup Small Farm Field Day  -  24 April 2010

The Balingup Small Farm Field Day is the most popular event held in our community, with over 10,000 people enjoying the day on the town oval.  Over 300 stalls, plus information and demonstration booths give everyone an opportunity to learn how to live the 'good life' away from the city.  Guided small farm and "tree-change" tours are conducted for a small extra fee.  Practical demonstrations include a Blacksmith, a Farrier, fence building, and greenwood turning on a pole lathe.  Early in April the town comes alive with the Small Farm Field Day symbol, the scarecrow. There is a small admission fee for entry to this event.
For more information see the Small Farm Field Day site.

Autumn Delights:  Frid 30 April, Sat 1 & Sun 2 May
Prelude:   Friday 8 to Sunday 10 October
Main Festival:   Wed 3 to Sun 7 November

The Festival of Country Gardens is a twice-yearly event taking place in the Blackwood River Valley and Manjimup area over several days in both spring and autumn. The main Festival event is held in November and there is a Preview weekend in October. A smaller Festival, called "Autumn Delights", is held over the first weekend of May.

Each year different themes are chosen and for 2009 the themes are both water wise gardens and fire wise gardens and show how gardens can be productive while still being water wise. The themes are an ongoing part of the Festivals and will be highlighted through the 30 gardens open for viewing and through talks and other activities.
